pretty little things Charity Event- Lets Show our Support

Pretty Little Things has gone regional, and with a charitable cause. 

The second Pretty Little Things will take place at Al Sadu House from April 28^th - May 1^st  and with the help of Abyat, will aid in the effort to renovate the local orphanage. The Khair Al-Kuwait Charity Foundation is leading the effort at the orphanage and PLTQ8 wanted to pitch in!

For this PLTQ8, we have a goal of renovating an entire building at the orphanage. How do we plan on going about it? 3 ways:

1) Some items will be donated by Abyat

2) The rest will be placed on a wish list, from which event goers can pledge from. We get them at a discount, you get to see and choose exactly what your money buys.

3) At the same time, we will set up a charity art installation at the event to raise funds, which we will use to buy what's left on the wish list post-event.

Et voila, our humble contribution, complete, and every person who attends will be an integral part of it!

General Info on Pretty Little Things:

The second Pretty Little Things will also see an exciting lineup of regional brands by the likes of Saudi Arabian labels Razan Al Azzouni, Fyunka, Sotra Boutique, Boston-based Anakatarina Eco Gioielli, and local brands May Jewelry, Pieces By Farah, Th'haba, Paper Design Nest, So Lulu, The Yard, Baby B, Lina Jewelry Design, Muneera Alsharhan, and Press Design. There will also be a line of scents, perfumes, bukhoor and scented candles from Saudi Arabia.

The first Pretty Little Things took place last December. Twinkling light-strung trees, trays of floral ceramic pots filled with complimentary tea, flickering tea light candles and baby yellow roses enchanted visitors, who cozied up with checkered blankets on golden park benches. Inside the venue, a hand-selected group of vendors showcased their wares. The social event was started by Noaf Hussein as a way for creatives, the curious, and those who appreciate the smallest of nuances to get together, shop, chat, and network with bloggers and each other in a beautiful setting. It's about the small details, the ones that make you smile—the pretty little things.

 The organizers of "Alwan - Art & Fashion" were kind enough to send me an invite to attend their event.

The concept behind "Alwan" is to host relevant vendors to match the theme planned, with "Alwan - Summer & Ramadan" coming next in June. They are looking to host complementary brands and designers under one roof to ensure that each vendor gets a chance to shine. This event will be sponsored by Goji Boutique and Qumar14

Last week, a Spanish guy commented on one of my post with this long comment, i think you should all read it and help him in getting the Kuwaiti stamps, you can check his blog as well.

"Good morning how are you?

My name is Emilio, I am a Spanish boy and I live in a town near to Madrid. I am a very interested person in knowing things so different as the culture, the way of life of the inhabitants of our planet, the fauna, the flora, and the landscapes of all the countries of the world etc. in summary, I am a person that enjoys traveling, learning and respecting people's diversity from all over the world.

I would love to travel and meet in person all the aspects above mentioned, but unfortunately as this is very expensive and my purchasing power is quite small, so I devised a way to travel with the imagination in every corner of our planet. A few years ago I started a collection of used stamps because trough them, you can see pictures about fauna, flora, monuments, landscapes etc. from all the countries. As every day is more and more difficult to get stamps, some years ago I started a new collection in order to get traditional letters addressed to me in which my goal was to get at least 1 letter from each country in the world. This modest goal is feasible to reach in the most part of countries, but unfortunately it’s impossible to achieve in other various territories for several reasons, either because they are countries at war, either because they are countries with extreme poverty or because for whatever reason the postal system is not functioning properly. 
For all this I would ask you one small favour: 

Would you be so kind as to send me a letter by traditional mail from Kuwait? I understand perfectly that you think that your blog is not the appropriate place to ask this, and even, is very probably that you ignore my letter, but I would call your attention to the difficulty involved in getting a letter from that country, and also I don’t know anyone neither where to write in Kuwait in order to increase my collection. a letter for me is like a little souvenir, like if I have had visited that territory with my imagination and at same time, the arrival of the letters from a country is a sign of peace and normality and an original way to promote a country in the world.
